Hanoi [Vietnam], August 10: Even in its second week of release, the blockbuster 'Spider-Man' continues to demonstrate its immense appeal, sweeping North American box offices and impressively surpassing the billion-dollar mark in revenue.

According to Variety , the Marvel and Sony film earned an additional $43 million (approximately 1.083 trillion VND) on August 7th (local time) from 4,487 theaters. It is estimated that by the end of August 9th, the film will have grossed approximately $143 million (equivalent to 3.603 trillion VND). Although this figure is down 60% from its record-breaking opening weekend of $360 million (approximately 9.072 trillion VND), the film's total domestic revenue is still expected to reach $653 million (approximately 16.455 trillion VND) after two weeks of official release. Variety reports that as early as August 5th, Spider-Man: Day in the West officially surpassed Toy Story 5 to become the highest-grossing film of 2026. While Toy Story 5 took the entire summer to reach $1.067 billion, Spider-Man only needed 7 days to surpass $1.155 billion.
This film surpassed the $1 billion mark in just 6 days after its release, becoming the second fastest film to achieve this milestone in history, second only to Avengers: Endgame, which reached $1.2 billion after 3 days.
Following closely behind in second place is The Odyssey . Variety reported that the film grossed $8.8 million on August 7th (its fourth week of release). Christopher Nolan's Greek epic is expected to add another $30.5 million over the weekend, a decrease of about 40% from the previous week. The Odyssey 's cumulative North American revenue is estimated at $460 million.
