Beyond the glitz and glamour of the screen lies a 34-year marriage to his wife, Lam Yen-Ming, who is 14 years younger, and a remarkable journey of overcoming health challenges that has earned him much admiration.

Recently, the latest update on Zheng Zeshi's condition has been widely shared on social media. According to Sohu on March 2nd, contrary to the images of him in poor health and living in a slum fabricated by tabloids, he appeared mentally alert and in good shape. Few would have expected that someone who once weighed 135 kg and was frequently plagued by illness could have undergone such a dramatic transformation.
In just over nine months, the actor lost 35 kg, completed a 10 km marathon, significantly improved his knee pain, and brought his blood sugar levels back to normal.
The turning point began in early 2025, when his knee pain became severe, especially when going down stairs. After examination, he was diagnosed with osteoarthritis due to prolonged overweight. Doctors recommended lifelong pain relief injections, every 4 to 6 months, to control symptoms. However, Zheng Zeshi did not want to depend on medication for the rest of his life and decided to change his approach through exercise.
The first person he thought of to help him change was his longtime friend Chow Yun-fat. Having maintained a running habit for many years, Chow Yun-fat immediately agreed to join him and built a training plan from scratch. From April 2025, the sight of the two of them running together on the streets of Hong Kong at 5 am became familiar.
In the early days, Zheng Zeshi struggled to walk even 1 km, running a few steps before becoming breathless, and many times he wanted to give up. However, Chow Yun-fat was always there to adjust his pace, encourage him to persevere, and even gave up his own goals to complete the 10 km distance with him.
